2005 looks like a crappy year for movies, yeah, no movie so far has made me want to go to a theater...until now. Have you seen Sin City? Holy fuck!! it looks fucking awesome, word on the street is that it's one of the most violent movies ever, most violent comic book movie, for sure, i'm guessing; and the casting is fucking A too: Bruce Willis (yeah, movies with this dude are always a gamble), Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Nick Stalh, Elijah Wood, Benicio Del Toro, Britanny Murphy, Marley Shelton, Michael Madsen, Josh Harnett and Alexis "Rory Gilmore" Bledel; it looks like the best movie Robert Rodriguez has done. It's already in theaters in the States, but there's no signs of Mexican release date (fucking bastards!!). so for now here's the trailer. Now click here to see the comic to film comparisons, it's fun and impressive
Speaking of Rory Gilmore, Alexis Bledel has another movie coming out soon called The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants based on some book, it looks like a total girl power thing, watch the trailer at the movie's site. Oh and it looks like Alexis doesn't like to be known as Rory, or so it says in Alternative Press.
More movies stuff, actually this is a lot of movie stuff for someone who hasn't been to the movies since last December (when i saw Spongebob Squarepants...boy, that movie rules!!), the hour is coming, many of us feared it's arrival but there's no turning back anymore, it looms upon us: Last Days, the movie based on Kurt Cobain, is finally coming out, judging from what i've seen, it doesn't look like much fun, yeah, it seems they conveniently left out Kurt's sense of humor, in fact, it seems they conveniently left out the band and the music; after all, it's an "adaptation"...I bet Oliver Stone is either proud or kicking himself for not doing the movie first. It seems that the only cool thing in the movie is that Kim Gordon appears in it (no pun intended), Asia Argento is cool and all but every once in a while she does bad stuff (XXX, anyone?)...Oh well, watch the trailer and see for yourselves.
In even more movie news, Jack Black has a lot of movies coming up, first up is King Kong, directed by Peter "Geek Trilogy" Jackson, which doesn't really blow my skirt up, he's also working on a new film co-written by Mike White and Jared Hess (who wrote and directed Napoleon Dynamite) about a mexican priest who's a wrestler by night and, get this, he's filming it in Mexico, sweet! maybe i'll get to hang with Jack then (i wish...). He's also going to start working on the Tenacious D movie called Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny, the movie is about a magical guitar pick that will help them become, you know, the greatest band in the world; they're hoping to get Meat Loaf to play Jack's dad (because the movie is also about the history of the D) and they're also doing the soundtrack which will double as the next D album. Sick news in here!!
